The Lawns Pavilion Reading Room is now open 8am-midnight daily. Seating has been reduced to meet social distancing guidelines.
The War Memorial Library is closed due to Covid-19 restrictions and ongoing building works. The library team are operating a dedicated Click & Collect book service for college members (see information below).
Study spaces are also available in the JCR, Hall (outside meal times) and in the Nunnery Attic (residents only).
Our helpful library team, Emma and Sarah, are on hand to give a friendly welcome, provide advice and offer a priority book request service. The librarians are usually in the office Monday-Friday, 10am-4pm and can be contacted by email: firstname.lastname@example.org
Trinity members can benefit from borrowing up to 30 books at a time for an entire term or vacation (renewable on SOLO or via email). While the main library building remains closed, we are offering a Click & Collect book service for existing library books via this form.
As well as the book’s title and author, we will need the Trinity shelfmark and Trinity barcode (9-digit number beginning with '3') from the SOLO library catalogue.
For more guidance on SOLO (including checking your account, accessing ebooks and finding journal articles) see this Bodleian Libraries guide. The library team are also on hand to help you.
Books will be available to collect at 3pm the next day from the Library Quad marquee.
From 0th Week, we are also offering the service at weekends for requests submitted via the form.
Please take care of all books on loan to you and return requested books promptly. Damaged, lost or unreturned books will result in a replacement fee and admin fee.
If the book you need is already on loan (it will display a due date on SOLO), email email@example.com and we will place a recall on your behalf.
If we do not have a book you need, or there are not enough copies of a recommended text, please get in touch via firstname.lastname@example.org. We purchase most book requests, and there is no limit on the number of suggestions. We also welcome requests for wider reading.
Requested books are treated as priority orders and we will email you as soon as requests are ready to collect.
For any books which are too costly or would not benefit other students, a book grant is available from the Academic Office.
Books can be returned at the Library Quad marquee. As we now need to quarantine books overnight for everyone’s safety, the timing is important:
The metal book bin and plastic book box are labelled with the times to guide you.
We can offer additional support if you have a disability, health condition or specific learning disability, regardless of whether you have formally disclosed it or not. Options include:
Please get in touch with Emma (College Librarian) in confidence to discuss how we can help.
To arrange support from the Bodleian Libraries, please email the Bodleian's Disability Librarian. Alternatively, details of the disability contact for each individual library can be found here
Wi-fi (Eduroam) is available and 2 PCs for student use can be found in the Lawns Pavilion Reading Room. You will need your Trinity username and password for the PCs.
A printer/copier/scanner can be found in the Lawns Pavilion Reading Room. Printing in college is free. Print jobs can be sent from library PCs or from your own devices. Follow these print instructions or contact IT Manager Alastair Johnson for more information.
The library is for Trinity College members only. If we have a book you need which is not available elsewhere in Oxford, you are welcome to contact email@example.com to request an appointment. Please note that the library is closed to all visitors until 2021.
