We're sorry to announce that the reading room will be closed for the foreseeable future (except to Pusey House residents and keyholders). We realise this may be disappointing news, but we believe it is the safest course of action, given the severity of the Covid situation in the UK at the moment.

The closure will be reviewed regularly and we will post updates here and on our social media channels, as the situation develops.

Pusey House Library is a reference library in Oxford specialising in Church History, Patristics and Anglo-Catholic Theology. We hold over 75,000 printed books (of which around 300 were published before 1760), as well as a range of pamphlets and periodicals. Dr Edward Bouverie Pusey's own collection forms the heart of the library.

We also have an extensive Archive of unpublished materials relating to Tractarianism and the Oxford Movement, including papers of Dr Pusey, Henry Parry Liddon, and St John Henry Newman, among others.

Oxford Scriptorium

On Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays, Pusey House Library hosts the Oxford Scriptorium study group. Anyone is welcome to join this friendly support network and follow a regular schedule of study, socialising and prayer.

Please contact for further details. Please note that the Scriptorium are meeting online, via Zoom, during the current national lockdown.
