Due to the ongoing pandemic, a number of interim services have been introduced at the Philosophy and Theology Faculties Library; these services are described in the corresponding tabs.

Library fines have been suspended for Michaelmas Term 2020.

The Philosophy and Theology Faculties Library re-opened to readers with an advanced booking on 24/09/2020. Those wishing to enter the library can book a morning and/or afternoon slot to reserve a desk, a PC, or a height adjustable desk.

Hours for sessions are:

Morning - 10:00-12:30

Afternoon - 13:00-16:00

Term:

Monday-Friday:

Morning - 09:30-13:00

Afternoon - 13:30-17:00

Saturdays: 11:00-14:00

Readers who have booked a morning and afternoon session will not be required to leave the library between sessions.

Revised guidance is in place for readers entering the library. This is circulated via the booking confirmation email and supplemented with a handout on arrival. For the safety of others, we ask that all readers adhere to this guidance.

This service allows readers to enter the library for shorter periods, but does not allow use of a desk. Readers can browse the shelves, borrow books and make use of other facilties, such as Print Copy and Scan (PCAS) machines and Quick Search PCs.

Browse and Borrow begins at the Philosophy and Theology Faculties Library on 26/10/2020. Hours for the service are:

Monday-Friday: 16:00-17:00

Saturdays: 12:00-14:00

Readers with a University or Bodleian Reader Card can request scanned extracts of open-shelf library books held at the Philosophy and Theology Faculties Library where an alternative copy, such as an electronic copy, is unavailable. Requests are free to make, but readers are limited to placing one request a day. Requests are fulfilled within five days and sent to the reader's University email address.

Scan and deliver services offered by the Bodleian Storage Facility (BSF) are operating as normal.

University Card holders can request to borrow open-shelf material from the Philosophy and Theology Faculties Library via the Bodleian's Click and Collect service. Readers must place a request via SOLO and arrange a collection appointment in advance by following the link received in their hold request confirmation email.

At the Philosophy and Theology Faculties Library, half an hour collection slots are available Monday to Friday from 10:00-12:00 and 14:00-16:00. Bookings can be made no less than four hours in advance. The designated collection point is the back patio doors of the library. Signage is in place to direct readers.

This service is for readers requiring remote access to electronic Legal Deposit (eLD) material, which is ordinarily only available on Bodleian Libraries PCs. Records appear like this on SOLO:

For £2.00 readers can request up to 5% or a chapter of an eLD resource be printed and sent to a nominated address. Requests are normally fulfilled within two working days. To place a request, open the item record, scroll down to 'Links', click 'Print and Deliver' and follow the instructions:

Readers with Bodleian Libraries loans can return them via a Bodleian Returns Hub.
