Purpose of this guide

This guide is intended for students and researchers studying the law and legal system of Northern Ireland at the University of Oxford, although students and researchers from any field may find it useful.

Use this guide to find out about sources and commentary for Northern Irish law, including ebooks, ejournals, and databases.

Northern Irish Law: quick start

Holders of an Oxford SSO can use JustisOne, Westlaw and LexisLibrary 
There are also useful free website available to all.

The Bodleian Law Library's collection of Northern Irish Law Report series and Law journals are on Level 2, at Cw UK NI 100, and Cw UK NI 300 respectively.

Northern Ireland legislation  - in print, and historic (unamended) - is on Level 1. 

Monographs and textbooks relating to the law in Northern Ireland are part of the subject-arranged collection and have shelfmarks starting K-KN. For topics within public law (KM) or private law (KN) subjects, texts relating specifically to Northern Ireland will be identified by .N8 in the shelfmark.
