Women, Peace & Security (WPS)

In 2020 the importance of women in the peace and security agenda was first formally acknowledged by Security Council resolution 1325
1) The role of women in conflict prevention,
2) women’s participation in peacebuilding,
3) the protection of the rights of women and girls during and after conflict,
4) women’s specific needs during repatriation, resettlement and for rehabilitation, reintegration and post-conflict reconstruction.
