Finding articles in law and social science journals
Legal research cannot be done by relying on the "Articles & more" tab on SOLO - with or without the addition of Google Scholar!
There are special tools indexing law journals - do make use of them.
Google scholar search
Free resource. OU members can click on the Settings link (near top right), then on the next page, Library Links in the left hand column, type Oxford in the search box and then click in box alongside "University of Oxford Find it @ Oxford" and finally click Save this setting. This will help you get online access to material in some (but not all) legal databases for which the Law Bod has a subscription when on the OU network/working via VPN. For example, it works for accessing journals held on HeinOnline.
Max Planck Institute for European Legal History
OPAC/ Online catalogue of holdings of major research library. Look out for annotation This is an article [actually includes named chapters in books] If you click on the Display Source link, then you should be able to find the journal or book title details you will need to carry the search over into SOLO.
