The Map Room has an extensive range of books on cartography and GIS. A large selection of atlases are available, together with journals, gazetteers and other reference works. Digital mapping, GIS facilities and a range of digital datasets are available, including ArcGIS for visualising the relationships between data and geography.

The Map Room provides guidance, advice and help in digital mapmaking and analysing spatial data using geographic information systems (GIS) software. Further details are here.
