Its goal is to support the study and enjoyment of history at all levels by creating an environment that promotes lifelong learning and provides for the evolving needs of people who share an interest in history. 

Institute of Historical Research

 

The Institute of Historical Research (IHR) provides resources for historians, including a major research library, digital projects, seminars and lectures.

History Online

It publishes details of university lecturers in the UK and the Republic of Ireland, current and past historical research, digital history projects, new books and journals from a range of leading publishers and sources of funding available for researchers.

This database currently holds more than 53,000 records, and new material is added regularly.

Oxford resources

Bodleian Libraries subscription resources for History can be accessed via Databases A-Z. Scroll down the subject listings on the left side of the screen and select History. You will need your Single Sign On to access most of these resources if you are not connected to the Oxford network, although some important free sites are included as well.

  Remote access

To access electronic journals and Databases A-Z off campus:

Sign on to SOLO, or Databases A-Z  using your Single Sign On. This allows you to access most e-resources as if you were on campus. 

The Single Sign On is available to all students on award bearing courses who hold a full University card
