Frequently asked questions:
What do students need to do to join the library?
The library offers membership to students whilst on placement at Oxford Health FT. Library inductions are provided for all Medical Students at the beginning of their placement.
What facilities are available?
Loans: A maximum of eight books may be borrowed at any one time.
The standard loan period is 28 days; short loans are for 14 days.
Items may be renewed two times (subject to recall). Renewals may be made either in person, via the internet or by telephone.
Fines are charged at 20p per day per item.
Returning items: We send pre- and post- due date reminders by email, so an up to date email address is required. NB it is advisable to check junk mail for messages from the library and/or enable such messages if possible.
We chase people for unreturned books (a reminder email is sent two days before the book is due, and then three further emails are sent after the book is due). We do our best to contact users to get books back, but after a certain length of time we will send out invoices via our finance department for the cost of the book(s), fines, and a £20 administration fee (non-refundable).
Suggestions: We welcome suggestions for purchase of items to support medical students. Email us or complete a suggestions form.
Reading and study rooms: (bookable) at Warneford Library only.
Copying: ask staff if needed.
PCs: OHFT PCs are available at all libraries – log ins provided by OHFT IT; University only PCs are available at Warneford Library for those with University single-sign on access.
