Irish constitution

The current Bunreacht na hÉireann, Constitution of Ireland, came into operation on the 29th December 1937.

It can only be changed by a referendum of Irish citizens over 18 years old. If the people agree, then an amending act has to be passed by both Houses of the Oireachtas
