Convention on the Elimination of all Forms of Discrimination against Women
Convention on the Elimination of all Forms of Racial Discrimination
Convention against
Torture and other Forms of Cruel, Inhuman or Degrading Treatment or
Punishment
Convention on the Rights of the Child.
International Covenant on Economic, Social and Cultural Rights (1966)(with a reservation re trade union rights)
China has signed the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights but ratification has not yet followed.
The Constitution of the People's Republic of China sets out civil and political rights.
But the implementation and protection of rights within the PRC continues to be a matter of concern to Western observors.
