Remote Access

To access Oxford's subscription resources off campus:

Use your Single Sign On. Go to SOLO and click on Oxford Single Sign On (top right). For most of our e-books and e-journals this is all you need.

What about VPN (Virtual Private Network)? Only necessary for a few library resources. With VPN you can access the University network as if you were on campus. Register with OUCS.

E-book series from our collection

In addition to physical books, the library also has a number of e-books which can be accessed by University of Oxford members on or off campus. E-books can be found using SOLO or by searching various e-book platforms directly. There are also a range of on-line services which can be used to access out of copyright or public domain books.

  • O'Reilly (formerly Safari Books Online) (for e-books covering various computer science areas. This platform includes also videos and online courses. You will need to register on the website using an .ox.ac.uk email address before use).
  • E-book Library (EBL) (for e-books on a variety of topics covering various subdivisions of Engineering and Computer Science topics)
  • OECD iLibrary (for e-books on a variety of topics, such as Energy, Environment, and Industry)
  • Oxford Reference Online (for Oxford reference e-books on a variety of topics)
  • Oxford Scholarship Online (fo e-books covering a wide range of subjects, such as Mathematics and Physics)
  • Springer e-books (for e-books on a variety of topics covering various subdivisions of Engineering and Computer Science topics)
