This guide is intended for students and researchers at Regent's Park College, as well as others at the University of Oxford seeking information about Regent's Park College library.

Opening hours

*The Regent's Park College libraries are currently closed to external readers.*

For Regent's Park students resident in Oxford, the college library opening hours are:


midnight–7am (bookings not required)

9am–12 noon (bookings required)

2–5pm (bookings required)

5pm–midnight (bookings not required)

Saturday and Sunday (no bookings required):



So the closed hours are:

7–9am seven days a week

12 noon–2pm weekdays




Working in the library during the Covid-19 outbreak

  • You have to book desks in advance for the following time slots:
  • Monday to Friday: 9am–12 noon and 2–5pm
  • The library will be closed for cleaning:
  • Monday to Friday: 7–9am; 12 noon–2pm
  • Saturday and Sunday: 8–9am
  • You must wear a face mask (unless you are exempt) throughout the time you are in the library.
  • Please sanitize your hands before entering the library, and after touching the door handles.
  • There are 31 study spaces available, including the MCR study room.
  • Please observe the one-way system in the main reading room.
  • Please clean the area you have used, when you leave it, using the wipes provided. 
  • You may not browse the bookshelves when anyone is sitting at desks in front of them.
  • If you touch any book that you do not borrow, you must put it on the library trolley.
  • You must not put any book back on the library shelves or take any book from the trolley. 
  • There is a Click & Collect system on SOLO for students to request books from the college library. 
  • Books will be quarantined between their return to the library and a new loan. 
  • You should return books to the box outside the library as normal.

Library code of conduct

You can help to keep the library a pleasant space for everyone to study in by remembering the following:

  • Please keep talking and noise to a minimum. 
  • Please switch all electronic devices to silent, or use headphones.
  • Please leave the library to have a conversation, whether in person or by phone.
  • Please do not consume food in the library.
  • Please bring drinks in spill-proof containers only.
  • Smoking and vaping are not permitted.
  • Please use only one study space at a time.
  • Please do not leave your belongings in the library when you are not there. Please use one of the storage boxes provided in the Angus room. 
  • Please do not keep books on your desk that have not been checked out to you. Other students may be looking for these on the shelves. 
  • Please do not bring any personal belongings into the library which are not study-related.
