3D modeling and animation program for Windows, Linux and Mac. There are lots of helpful tutorials and examples on the website.
Autodesk software for students
Signing up to Autodesk with your university email will give you access to a free 3-year license for professional Autodesk software. These include AutoCAD, 3DS Max, Maya and much more.

Before you try to print a 3D model that you have created or modified, use one of these tools to check for any problems with your model that might prevent you from being able to print it successfully:
