Entrance to the English Faculty Library

The English Faculty Library was established in 1914 to serve all those reading and teaching English at Oxford. It became part of Oxford University Library Services (OULS) at its formation in 2000 and in March 2010 the EFL became one of the Bodleian Libraries of the University of Oxford.

The Library’s collections are available to all those requiring access for academic purposes.

All registering borrowers must have a valid University card.

Please note also that Bodleian membership does not automatically entitle readers to borrowing rights at the EFL.

Students reading English:
Undergraduates 10 books (Loan period 7 days)
Postgraduates (taught courses) 12 books (Loan period 14 days)
Postgraduates 12 books (Loan period 28 days)

Members of Other Faculties :
All students 8 books (Loan period 7 days)
 

Books may be renewed via SOLO, if not reserved by other readers.
