AHRC student funding grants

2013/14 Policy

Terms: "In the case of Ph.D. theses funded by the AHRC, metadata describing the thesis should be lodged in the institution's repository as soon as possible after award and a full text version should be available within a maximum of 12 months following award. It is expected that metadata in institutional repositories will be compatible with the metadata core set recommended by the ETHOS e-thesis online service."

2014/15 Policy

The 2014/15 policy is to be read in conjunction with the RCUK policy on funding grants (http://www.rcuk.ac.uk/funding/grantstcs/) which include the following terms: "104. In the case of Ph.D. theses funded by Research Councils, metadata describing the thesis should be lodged in the institution's repository as soon as possible after award and a full text version should be available within a maximum of 12 months following award. It is expected that metadata in institutional repositories will be compatible with the metadata core set recommended by the ETHOS e-thesis online service."

AHRC Research funding guide (08/2014)

Terms: "Access to Data - deposit of resources or datasets Grant Holders should abide by the RCUK Common Principles on Data http://www.rcuk.ac.uk/research/datapolicy/ Grant Holders in all areas must make any significant electronic resources or datasets created as a result of research funded by the Council available in an accessible and appropriate depository for at least three years after the end of their grant. The choice of depository should be appropriate to the nature of the project and accessible to the targeted audiences for the material produced."

Though a subject repository should be the first point of deposit for any supporting data to research as mandated by the AHRC terms, material can also be deposited to ORA Data
