Latin American Collections in the Bodleian Law Library
This guide gives an overview of printed collections and online resources for Latin American jurisdictions and juridical-economic blocs.
Printed resources
The printed collections are shelved according to the country/jurisdiction and are always in the same sequence: primary resources (legislation, law reports), then law journals, then texts/monographs.
You will find the Caribbean, Central and South American countries on the Lower/Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer IT Room floor. The strength and depth of holdings for these countries in the LawBod varies considerably.
The shelfmarks are based on the country's name (or an obvious abbrevation of it), but they may start with Cw - indicating that nation is a member of the Commonwealth . (This Cw does not affect the alphabetical order when it comes to position on shelves.)
Comparative studies can be found in the area with the shelfmark General. This is on the main Reading Room Floor, in the Wing beyond the Photocopying room. Most of the books in this area are in English
