Pre-clinical Medicine: Finding journals

Guide to Oxford University library resources for Pre-clinical Medical Students.

Document Supply

If Oxford doesn't have the article or book you want, get hold of it with our Document Supply service (link below). It's cheaper than buying direct off the web!

Finding e-journals

What e-journals do we have? use Oxford's list OUe-Journals (http://ejournals.bodleian.ox.ac.uk) to browse and access our 30,000 online journals.

Use this link http://ejournals.bodleian.ox.ac.uk) instead of going direct to the journal website, so you can (a) check if we should have access and (b) don't accidentally hit a paywall for journals we subscribe to.  Log in with your Oxford Single Sign-On to get authenticated as an Oxford user.

Tip: For a one-word title change the default from Contains to Starts with or Exact.

Printed journals

No electronic version? Check SOLO for any printed copies in the library (usually older volumes).

Off-campus access to e-resources

To access Oxford's e-journals, e-books and databases off campus:

Use your Single Sign On. Go to SOLO and click on Oxford Single Sign On (top right). For most of our e-books and e-journals this is all you need.

What about VPN (Virtual Private Network)? Only necessary for a few library resources. With VPN you can access the University network as if you were on campus. Register with Oxford IT Services.

For further information see the Bodleian Libraries remote access guide.
