LibGuide to African Studies
This 'Getting Started' page gives you links to key resources and information for African Studies. The tabs above lead to more in-depth information about different types of resources including archives, books, journals, theses, film, news sources, and official papers.
The links on the right-hand side provide library and contact information for Lucy McCann, Archivist at Rhodes House Library. You may also contact Sarah Rhodes, African and Commonwealth Subject Consultant, for subject enquiries.
Rhodes House collections moving
The archival collections held in Rhodes House will be moved to the newly refurbished Weston Library (formerly the New Bodleian) in the late summer of 2014. Our goal is to transfer collections safely with minimal disruption to users. During the process, some items may be temporarily unavailable. We do not anticipate that any holdings from our collection will be out of circulation for more than two weeks at a time.
Keep updated on developments via the Weston Library website.
Ways to access subscription resources off campus:
- Single Sign-On (SSO). Sign on to SOLO, OxLIP+ or your University email and your browser retains the sign on. This allows you to access most e-resources as if you were on campus.
- VPN (Virtual Private Network). Register with OUCS to log on to the network via VPN. Once logged on you can access all e-resources as if you were on campus.
